Alpha Natural Resources is shutting down their Edwight mountaintop removal site above our Coal River communities of Naoma, Pettry Bottom, Sundial, and Edwight. How are they going to clean up their mess by Nov. 30, their last day of operations there? What does this mean for the new sites they're applying for on Coal River Mountain across the river?

Citing "adverse market conditions," Alpha sent WARN notices to 92 employees at their Edwight site and their Tunnel Mine site in Naoma. The Edwight site is the one above Coal River Mountain Watch's office and the communities of Naoma, Pettry Bottom, Sundial, and Edwight.
